MCKL Hosts Educational Talk to Guide IGCSE Students Towards Pre-University Success

Tuesday, 19th March 2024 –

Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) recently organized an enlightening educational talk as part of the MCKL Further Studies and Scholarship Program. The event, spearheaded by the Counselling Unit, was designed to prepare students for their tertiary education following the completion of their IGCSE examinations.

The session featured Mr. Andrew, a distinguished representative from the University of Central Oklahoma, who focused his presentation on opportunities for furthering studies in Central Oklahoma. Mr. Andrew highlighted the success of numerous high achievers who have gained admission to prestigious Ivy League universities globally. He shared insights into his career path and academic background, providing a personal touch to the presentation.

Madam Lydia from MCKL took the stage to discuss various pre-university programs offered by the institution. She detailed the process through which students could secure scholarships, both full and partial, thereby easing the financial burden of higher education.

The talk was supplemented with a video presentation and slides that outlined the possibilities of advancing in higher education, emphasizing the affordable and competitive tuition fees. These visuals helped clarify the subjects and areas of interest required at the pre-university level.

An interactive “question-and-answer” session allowed students to engage directly with the speakers, with participants earning caps for providing correct answers. This segment was not only informative but also interactive, fostering a dynamic learning environment.

The educational talk at Wesley Methodist School KL proved to be a crucial initiative for students poised to enter pre-university programs. It offered them valuable insights into the requirements needed for their desired fields of study and encouraged them to focus on their future educational paths.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, leaving students better informed and more focused on their academic and career aspirations.
